5 Fundamental Features to Base a New Hire On

new hire

One of the most essential yet overlooked aspects of the hiring process is choosing the specific qualities that your candidates need to possess in order to be considered. While some necessary attributes are obvious, like the ability to work in a team environment, other valuable attributes are easy to overlook. We have put together a list of 5 key attributes that you should look for in your next hire.

1. History of success – Have they been successful in almost everything they have done? Some people have it in their ‘DNA’ to be successful in everything they do.
The Past=The Future (when it comes to hiring).

2. Skillset match – Have they performed the same duties/tasks of your opening in their past?

3. Accountability – Have they demonstrated proof that they have successfully performed the similar goals and accountabilities in the past that you have in your opening?  E.g. they have previously grown a medical practice before from seeing 10 patients/day to 25 patients/day.

4. Company culture match – Does their previous company culture align with your company culture?  E.g. they have worked for companies that micromanage employees and your new opening is a very independent position.

5. Growth/career path match – Does your position meet the candidates desire to grow in their career path?  ‘A Players’ thrive off growth and new opportunities.  They need opportunity and growth or they will leave.
