We are both. Especially if we want to get recruitment marketing right.
Recruitment Marketing is ongoing and proactive. Thus, your brand, image and message matters. Through the recruiting process we need to be able to articulate our brand, our purpose, culture and values.
It effectively says who you are and who you aren’t. This fends off people who aren’t fits. If you are bold and clear about who you are and what you stand for, this will mean better hires. If you hide or don’t display your values and purpose and the candidate finds out after they start the position, candidates can feel tricked which can create retention and productivity issues. It can also cause lack of unity in a team because a new hire may not share the same values as the current team.

Tip: Cast your message to a specific audience through various channels rather than throwing a wide net. This is more efficient and economical.
