Time is one of our most valuable commodities, so we must use it well.
One way to do that is to turn off all notifications during “deep work” to help you focus on the one task at hand. Cal Newport defines deep work as “professional activity performed in a state of distraction-free concentration that pushes your cognitive capabilities to their limit.”
. . . .
The average person checks their phone roughly every 15 minutes. It then takes several minutes for the average person to regain concentration entirely after being interrupted. Think of how much more productive you’d be without the temptation to remove your attention from the work at hand!
Thanks!
