It’s a very competitive market right now for recruiting MDs. They are getting more offers and have more options than ever before. You could be doing everything right and still be getting turned down offers.
Here are 3 things that can help you land the next great doctor you have in your pipeline.
- Offer the candidate fast. Make the interview process 3-5 weeks total from the time you get their resume. If you go past 5 weeks, the chances of them accepting another job go way up.
- Make your first offer the highest possible salary. Do not low ball offer candidates in this market, they have too many options. If your offer isn’t ‘above market’, you likely won’t land the doctor you really want.
- Make them feel special during the interview process. Wine and dine them. Share your mission and values and tell them how they fit in to all of that.
Other ideas to consider; 4-day work weeks, partner track roles, longer income guarantees, strong RVU or bonus potential, revising your mission and purpose to really attract younger physicians.
